Even though the adorable, cute little Emmanuel Lewis had his television debut on the popular sitcom “Webster” more than 20 years ago, he continues to receive fan mail. “My house is the only place where I can go where I’m not mobbed,” the star of the ABC series admits.
His Career
When the sitcom debuted in 1983, Lewis played the main character, a small child who is adopted by his NFL-pro godfather (Alex Karras) and his new socialite wife (Susan Clark) after losing his parents. The main focus of the show was on how this reckless couple had to adjust to their unexpected pregnancy and new life. However, most of the episode plots were driven by Lewis’s character, “Webster.”
Lewis received four nominations for the Young Artist Awards in connection with his work on the television show. Lewis served as the Burger King Whopper’s young spokesperson as well. In the 1980s, Lewis won three “People’s Choice Awards” and countless other honors for his numerous commercial appearances.
